About the

Meltwater Champions Chess Tour

The Meltwater Champions Chess Tour started in November 2020 and reached its conclusion in October 2021. The Tour featured monthly tournaments and  culminated in a final, where Magnus Carlsen emerged as the winner of the 10-month-long event – and received the world’s first NFT chess trophy!

For the first time in history, the world’s best online chess player has been determined over a full competitive season of online chess—and due to its huge success, Tour 2022 will return in February!

You can view the results of the final tourament here, and watch the event again here. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates on the next Tour!
